Today’s social media has given the masses a platform from which to express their emotions and opinions. Some would call this empowering and say that it is a good thing, but many people have become so focused on their internet presence that a digital footprint might be the only thing that they leave behind.
As more and more people become obsessed with showcasing the trivial and mundane aspects of their mediocre lives, they log out of reality and into the cyber-world, becoming nothing more than numbers in the machine.
Having Jeremy Metelak take the lyrical and vocal reins on this song brought a new level of intensity to the project. Jeremy not only wrote the lyrics and sang this brutally honest song, but he also did all of his own vocal mixing. NUMB3RS released with the February 2019 LooNurGooSe album ‘Witch Hunt.’ The finished product turned out to be one of the most powerful LooNurGooSe collaborations yet.

I can’t stand all you people
Your tweeting on Twitter
You Instagram-slamming, Facetiming quitters
I can’t help but think about pounding you
But I know that you’ll be wishing you could #Metoo
I’ve got one in the chamber
Two minutes to do it
I’m a three-way killer, I’ll
Load, cock it, and pull it
For the five billion people
Who don’t seem to get it
I’m so sick six sick of you
Ah, nah, forget it
You’re a number in the machine
You’re a number in the machine
I can’t help but despise all the faceless disguises
Everyone is hiding behind all the lies
This is for all of the people across every nation
Who can’t formulate a sentence without abbreviations
I’ve got one idea,
To solve the problem
Sending three hundred atoms
To fall from the heavens
For a whole lotta sinners who
High five and manage
To ignore you’re responsible,
Here comes the damage
You’re a number in the machine
You’re a number in the machine
You’re all numbers
You’re all numbers
You’re all numbers
In the machine
I can’t take these disgraces
With phones in their faces
Hypocritical masses, a war of the races
All these fakesbook fair-weather friends
Who’ve resorted to a life of pretending
They’re all so important
You’re the ones who’ve made it so
Too many I know are now
Three times more likely of
Suicidal actions,
For all the rich getting
Five dollars richer
Every six sick seconds
You all get the picture
You’re the numbers in the machine
You’re the numbers in the machine
You’re the numbers in the machine
