A reflection from Chad Hamlin about the making of Fur Roach Music Collection Volume One.
Looking back on the past several years of my recording career, I realized that something was missing, and that something was element66. I decided to ask Kenneth Fisher if he wanted to put the project back together, and he simply said, ”I’ve just been waiting on you.”
My focus over the past five years has been mostly about releasing LooNurGooSe music. I have had a great musical run creating nonstop and releasing it under the LooNurGooSe name. I owe Fur Roach Music a huge thanks for letting me flood the market with my crazy recordings, whether it be element66 or LooNurGooSe.
The time has come to switch gears back to my element66 project. Kenny and I are ready to see where this creative adventure will take us next. We have started writing and creating new element66 material over the last few weeks, but we probably will not have enough material for a new album until late this year. Until then I want to drop a few albums merging both element66 and LooNurGooSe in a compilation package. On June 16th, (My Birthday) Fur Roach Music will be releasing Volume One with LooNurGooSe & element66.
I like it when things come in threes, so there will be three volumes that will highlight the element66 & LooNurGooSe music from 2013 to 2021. Each of these releases will feature 16 songs, eight from LooNurGooSe and eight from element66. These songs range from the 2013 demos to some of my newest LooNurGooSe releases from 2021.
For me, listening to these songs is kind of like looking at photos of old friends, they are bringing back some intense emotions from my past. There was a lot of crazy things happening during these recordings while we were locked up in the Oregon State Penitentiary. I listen back to some of them, and I’m left with a grin ear to ear, we had some really strange recording sessions that would probably blow your mind. It has been a long, strange career as a recording artist from behind these prison walls.
I hope you enjoy this collection as much as I do. Thanks for listening. I really appreciate all your kind words and your continued support of these projects.
Thanks again.
